A typical drive to daycare.
A: Mommy. Me: Yes? A: Mommy… Me: Yes, honey. A: Mommy… I think… Mommy, I think that it looks like the sun is hiding. 3 seconds pass. A: Mommy. Me: Mhmmm? A: Mommy… Mommy. Me: Yes, bud. A: Mommy. I saw a bird. Mommy, I saw a bird out my window. 5 seconds. A: Mommy. Mommy. Mommy, do you think that bird is cold? Me: I think he isn’t cold. What do you think? A: I think he is cold. Mommy. It’s windy today and the sun is hiding. 2 seconds. A: Mommy. Me: Yes, Adam? A: Mommy. Me: I’m listening. Silence. 4 more seconds. A: Mommy. I breathe in. And out. Slowly. A: Mommy. Me: Yes, Adam. A: Mommy, I think that bird is going to Ms. Kerri’s house. Just like us. And when we get there. Mommy, when we get there he is going to be in a tree. Mommy. And, Mommy, I will say, “Hi Bird!” and he will look at me. Me, smiling: I’m sure you would like that. Maybe he will be waiting for us. You keep looking, okay? A: Okay. 6 seconds. A: Mommy. Mommy… 23 Mommies in. 11 minutes of driving to go. This is three years old.

I liked how you used mostly dialogue to tell this story. You sound like a very patient Mommy. I used to tell my more talkative charges sometimes, “Ooh, I just love this song. Let’s be quiet and listen until it’s over, “ which was not always honest, and “Traffic is bad, please be quiet so I can concentrate” which was.
